Open Call for LRC Workshops Proposals are OUT! (+ Volunteer Apps!)

SpringLRC.Workshop We’re excited to launch a call for workshop proposals for our Fall 2016 LRC! LRC is our adult rock camp, and it will be held Friday December 2nd - Sunday December 4th at Mastery Charter School-Thomas Campus. To find out more about LRC, read more here. (Check out our recently released volunteer application for other volunteer roles during the week!)

There are two workshops times at LRC–one on Saturday, December 3rd (3:15-4:45) and the other on Sunday, December 4th (11:15-12:45). There will be about 10-15 participants per workshop. Each workshop is 1.5 hrs long. Please note all workshop facilitators are volunteers. Facilitators are invited to join camp participants and volunteers for lunch.

[NEW] This fall, we are looking for workshops that fit in the following tracks:

  1. Our Sounds / Our Selves: Workshops in this track share different creative and musical skills, rooted in experimentation, self-expression and collaboration. For example, some past workshops include:
    1. Hip Hop Freestyle
    2. Loop Your Voice: Intro to Loop Pedal Technique and Vocal Improvisation
  2. Our Philadelphia Ecosystem: Workshops in this track use an intersectional approach to discuss and explore identity, space, abilities, healing, and alternative/cultural histories. We strongly encourage these workshops to be rooted in our Philadelphia landscape. For example, some past workshops include:
    1. Gentrification in Philadelphia: Then & Now
    2. Rock n Roll was Invented by a Black Queer Woman

Applications open October 25th and the deadline is Tuesday, November 15th at noonAs volunteers, we encourage all interested workshop facilitators to attend our volunteer meeting Wednesday, November 16th at our headquarters (1428 Germantown Ave)
