Ladies Rock Camp (LRC) is a weekend day camp in Philadelphia, PA that provides an opportunity for ladies 19 and over to let loose for the weekend and play rockin’ music together. You’ll learn and/or practice your instrument of choice*, and receive instrument instruction all weekend.  You’ll form a band and work together to write an original song that you will play together on stage on Sunday. The Ladies Rock Camp Showcase is an unbelievable experience!  In addition, you will have the opportunity to attend a variety of workshops.
*Choice of instruments includes Bass, Drums, Guitar and Keys (& turntables TBD).

Who may apply to Ladies Rock Camp?

Any woman age 19 and over may apply. NO MUSICAL EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.  You don’t even have to bring your own instrument, but feel free if you like.

*A note on the name: Girls Rock Philly believes in gender self determination and Ladies Rock Camp is open to all who identify with the female experience.

Tuition for Ladies Rock Camp, like all GRP programs, is sliding scale: $50-$400. We prefer to give our participants the space to decide what amount works best for their budget. Let us know if you have any questions!

Space is limited to 25 participants: first come, first served.

Ladies Rock will take place at Russell Byers Charter School, 1911 Arch Street, in center city Philadelphia. The showcase will take place at ImpactHUB Philly, 1227 North 4th Street (near Girard and 4th).

We will confirm your enrollment via email as soon as we process your application. We will do our best to give you your first or second choice instrument but keep in mind that we need an somewhat even distribution of instruments and levels. We will email you with instrument assignments in early April. We will also announce on our website and other online platforms when enrollment is full. Registration will close April 18, 2014.

Please make your payment by 2 weeks before camp, which is April 18, 2014. If you need to cancel after sending in your registration, please notify Girls Rock Philly as soon as possible. At that point, if you choose to donate your tuition, you will be given a tax receipt. If you cancel more than 14 days before the start of the program, you are entitled to a full refund minus a small cancellation fee. If you cancel within 14 days of the start of the program, you will be issued a 50% refund except in the case of an emergency.

If you’d like to give the gift of LRC to a special friend/family member/loved one, just make sure to put the camper’s information on the application, as well as your own.

Please mark on your application if you need a place to stay or can offer a place to stay for an out of town camper. Otherwise, there are plenty of hotels nearby.

Meals will include: Friday- Dinner, Saturday- Breakfast and Lunch, & Sunday- Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. There will be snacks on hand. Dinner on Saturday is a group potluck. We ask all participants to bring a dish to share! Please list any dietary needs/restrictions on your application.

You will receive a detailed schedule of the weekend in the weeks leading up to camp. However, you can plan on camp beginning around 4pm on Friday and ending after the showcase (around 10:00PM) on Sunday. Please take these hours into consideration when making travel arrangements and adjusting work schedules. There will be a party after the Showcase on Sunday to celebrate all your hard work!
