Dear Beloved Community,
2017 is going to be a big year! In the next few months, we’ll be saying welcome aboard and farewell!
At the end of last year – as we celebrated our 10 year anniversary- we launched a strategic planning process with a dedicated group of staff, board members, and youth participants. With guidance from over 100 community surveys filled out by folks like you, we are:
★reworking our mission statement;
★recommitting ourselves to offering dynamic programming;
★institutionalizing our values of social justice; and,
★recommitting ourselves to models of shared leadership.
Alongside this work, we are able to sustainably grow our organization thanks to the loving support from our community and our past #GRPFutures campaign. Committed as ever to collaboration and shared leadership, we are expanding our leadership model!
In the next few months, GRP will transition to a staff leadership structure of 3 full-time co-directors:
★Community Organizing Director
Our current Creative Director, Andrea Jacome, will transition to the Community Organizing Director. We’re also excited to announce that we have begun a hiring process for our new Operations Director position as well as our Program Director position.
We have bittersweet news that our Program Director Diane Foglizzo will be leaving Girls Rock Philly at the end of April after having trained and transitioned her replacement. Having joined GRP in 2012 as the first full-time staff member, Diane has transformed our organization to a robust community with dynamic year-round programming for youth, adults, and volunteers. This moment of growth is thanks in great part to Diane’s dedicated and intentional work for the past 5 years.
As we prepare for this transition, we share here (below) 2 new director job openings at GRP for our Program Director and Operations Director positions. We encourage you to share the news far and wide. We look forward to building with you in this new chapter.
